Do you believe that everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to live? Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati does, and also that the impact of homeownership extends far beyond any four walls, leading to better educational outcomes, improved health, and increased financial security—and that affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. With their sustainable, hands-on model, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati has been making homeownership a reality for families in need for more than 35 years.
Through Millcraft’s Buy & Give paper program, anyone and everyone can join forces with powerful nonprofit missions like Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati’s simply by purchasing Buy & Give office paper. As Don Trautmann, Business Development Millcraft, says, “We are all a part of Buy & Give through Millcraft. We all [Millcraft divisions nationwide] have different offerings and skus, but Buy & Give paper is something we all have, we’re all involved, and it helps get good work done.”
Paper With a Purpose
Established in 2015, Millcraft’s Buy & Give paper program grew out of Millcraft’s mission to create meaningful impact within Millcraft’s communities, and to give back to those in need. The initiative provides businesses the opportunity to support local charities through routine purchases of Millcraft’s Buy & Give brand office paper. For every carton of paper purchased, Millcraft donates $1 to the program—turning an ordinary office supply into an extraordinary opportunity for change.
Millcraft partners with Domtar, the leading producer of uncoated papers in North America, to produce and market Buy & Give multi-purpose paper throughout Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, West Virginia, and Tennessee. Since its inception, Buy & Give has generated more than $900,000 within Midwest communities served by select charitable organizations.
As the Buy & Give program celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2025, it’s reaching new heights. Domtar has announced that it will match every dollar raised in 2025, doubling the contributions to nonprofits across the Midwest. With Domtar’s matching support, Millcraft is on pace to exceed $1 million in total Buy & Give donations by 2025.
Together with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati
One of the newest beneficiaries of the Buy & Give paper program, Millcraft Cincinnati developed a partnership in January 2024 with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati. Founded in 1986, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati serves Butler, Warren, Hamilton, and Clermont Counties in Ohio; Boone, Kenton, and Campbell Counties in Kentucky; and Dearborn and Ohio counties in Indiana.
With a mission to eliminate substandard housing and build affordable homeownership opportunities for families in need, Habitat for Humanity believes that everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to live. Through the Affordable Homeownership Program, the organization empowers families to build and buy their own homes with an affordable mortgage. In addition to the organization also provides:
The Millcraft team is proud to join Habitat for Humanity Greater Cincinnati for a volunteer build day—helping raise walls, hang drywall, paint, landscape, and more. Together, we’re building more than homes—we’re building hope, stability, and stronger communities.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati, together with homebuyer families, donors, and volunteers, has built nearly 700 high-quality, modest homes and completed more than 250 critical home repairs for lower income military families and elderly homeowners in the greater Cincinnati community. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati also operates six Habitat for Humanity ReStores, home improvement retail stores that fund approximately one third of their work and keep usable materials from landfills.
Shared Principles and Values
Trautmann says the Millcraft Cincinnati team chose Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati as a designated Buy & Give Paper Program beneficiary because of a shared commitment to community impact. “We chose Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati in 2024, and also 2025, because of the incredible work they do in our community. It’s an organization that truly changes lives,” Trautmann says. “We’ve developed a great relationship with them, they’re good people.”
Sarah Reynolds, Communications and Marketing Officer of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati, says, “We are honored to be one of the nonprofit partners that benefits from Millcraft’s Buy & Give paper program. It is evident that Millcraft is a company with strong values that cares about their community.”
Millcraft awarded Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati $21,798 in 2024. Reynolds says the donation from Millcraft helps to further the nonprofit’s mission to build homes, communities, and hope in Greater Cincinnati and around the world.
“Many people are familiar with the fact that Habitat builds homes in our community,’ Reynolds shares. “In addition to building homes, we’ve been working to address a growing need for critical home repair, especially among older, low-income homeowners. These funds will help us to be able to serve more families including those in our Aging in Place program. Together, we can give homeowners the resources they need to repair or modify their homes so they can age safely with stability and independence in their homes.”
Reynolds furthers, “We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with Millcraft. In addition to using their quality products to help run our organization, we receive support through their Buy & Give Program. They are so great to work with and you can tell that the organization has a lot of heart. We are only able to create and preserve affordable homeownership opportunities because of the generous support of businesses like Millcraft.”
