Podpapers Magazine – Uniting Audio and Print

Podpapers Magazine – Uniting Audio and Print

There’s nothing like seeing a message in print to make it feel more special. That’s what the creators of Pod Papers Magazine set out to do when they decided to feature content created for a digital medium – podcasts, and make it permanent through the medium of print.

“Our culture, though increasingly digital, is in the midst of a moment of reflection. For many, turning digital into analog is helping fuel inspiration and creativity,” says Mary Anne Hansan, president of the Paper and Packaging Board. “Pod Papers is our answer to this cultural moment – it’s meant to be pored over and become a keepsake.”

Millcraft partnered up with campaign to supply paper for the publication. Showcasing the ability ink on paper has to grab our attention and draw us into its message, the publication was produced using both coated and text and cover papers. The vibrant artwork of the cover pops off McCoy Silk featuring a soft touch coating for an extra luxurious touch. The interior pages were printed on Classic Crest Eggshell in Solar White and prove you don’t sacrifice printability by adding in texture.

Featuring the work of illustrators of Adam J. Kurtz and Lorraine Nam, the magazine goes meta by captivating readers senses with the colorful paper artwork taking on a three-dimensional experience through the medium of print, uniting visuals with touch. And the reader experience is enhanced with augmented reality. Yet another example of how print unites the sense like no other medium.
