Stephanie Carpenter, a graphic designer, educator, and letterpress printer, shares how she helps facilitate learning through storytelling and hands-on experiences at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. She will discuss the importance of history, art, and design at a working museum that engages with individuals from all over the world.
Stephanie Carpenter has worked at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, since 2011, first as Assistant Director, now as Program Officer. At the museum, she leads programs including New Impressions, an international, juried exhibition; prints with the collection; coordinates the annual Wayzgoose conference; and teaches workshops. Stephanie enjoys the tactile nature of letterpress printing and the direct connection to history. She was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and received her BA in Communication Arts and Graphic Design from the University of Saint Francis and her MFA in Graphic Design from Indiana University, Bloomington.
